2022.01.19 23:38 firespittingAC question about buying xenoblade 2 torna used regarding the dlc

If I'm not mistaken, torna the golden country dlc comes as a verification code with the base game separately and not all together in the same cartridge. If this is the case does that mean that if I buy it used does that mean I wont get the dlc along with the cartridge because its already been downloaded in the previous owners switch or is it downloaded in the cartidge itself.
Buying a brand new unopened copy is really expensive so I was hoping to buy an already played copy. Thanks for the replies

2022.01.19 23:38 DOOMD Took a LONG BREAK: question about Time Lock from Void; also, that long break AFTER reset seems to have impacted my MMR

Hello everyone!
I used to be a decent postelurker on here, contributing where I could with answers about my best heroes (namely, Storm Spirit). However, I took a 2 year break from playing Dota and just recently returned to playing ranked (lucky me I'm on a 7 game win streak! Gotta keep it up!). For reference: if anyone resets their MMR BEFORE TAKING A BREAK? It seems to impact your MMR in a way, because I went from Ancient 3 to Archon 5 despite winning more than half of my calibration games. Apparently, I played 2 before I left, because I had 8 remaining, and went 6-2 on them. So, just wanted to chime in there about how taking a long break AFTER resetting your MMR DOES SEEM TO IMPACT IT IN A WAY.

ANYWAY, just wanted to give a bit of a background about how I used to play a lot but took a long break.
Now, returning from that break, I have a question that I THOUGHT I used to know the answer to, but I cannot find if this is true or not either on the wikia or on any in game tooltips. So, the question is: does the DAMAGE from Faceless Voids Time Lock pierce spell immunity?
I know absolutely positively that the STUN FROM TIMELOCK pierces spell immunity: I have no hesitation in stating that with absolute certainty. However, I'm not quite as sure anymore if they changed his time lock so that the DAMAGE either does, or does not, pierce spell immunity.
I recently played a game vs a void (as storm spirit, what a shocker playing my most played hero, I know :P ), and it SEEMED LIKE the time lock damage was BLOCKED BY SPELL IMMUNITY. After all, it IS magical damage, not physical, that makes sense to me. But NEITHER ANY OF THE TOOL TIPS, NOR ANY INFORMATION ON THE DOTA 2 WIKIA TELLS ME THAT IT IS BLOCKED BY SPELL IMMUNITY. Every single source of information seems to imply that timelock COMPLETELY PIERCES SPELL IMMUNITY. Again though, I was just watching the REPLAY to see if I was right or not, and it seems like the magical damage from time lock IS BLOCKED BY BKB. As I said though: every single tool tip in game says that it COMPLETELY PIERCES SPELL IMMUNITY; the information on the website also says that it completely pierces spell immunity, and so I just want to clarify this if anyone happens to know FOR A FACT one way or the other.

So, again, just to reiterate: when I left, the BASH from time lock DID pierce spell immunity, and it still seems to do so. Also, when I left, the DAMAGE FROM TIME LOCK WAS BLOCKED BY SPELL IMMUNITY, and, after watching the replay, it DOES SEEM LIKE THE DAMAGE IS BLOCKED BY SPELL IMMUNITY (in my case, via BKB). But, again, all of the tool tips seem to indicate that it is NOT BLOCKED BY SPELL IMMUNITY. Here's a screenshot from the game where I was bkb'd during chrono during a time lock:

BKB during a time lock proc

I did the calculation, and it took approximately 65.3 damage from void (this is after my armor and other reductions), which is equal to ONLY HIS PHYSICAL DAMAGE, NOT HIS TIME LOCK! With timelock, I should have taken an extra 30*.75 damage (30 from the time lock minus the 25% base magic resistance), if it was NOT blocked by magic immunity. However, as I've shown, I did the math and I was ONLY MISSING the 65.3 physical damage damage, which, again, was Voids damage of 189 minus the reduction from my armor: 66% reduction, so 189*.34=64.3 damage.
So, once again: based off of all of my calculations in game, it appears that the DAMAGE from time lock IS in fact blocked by magic immunity. Again though, based off of EVERY TOOL TIP AND EVERY SOURCE OF INFORMATION, it states that Time Lock COMPLETELY pierces magic immunity. The math I did though tells me that it IS BLOCKED by magic immunity, but I just wanted to make assurance double sure (as they say), so that I know in the future whether or not this is the case, as that can be the difference between getting killed in chrono or not.
Anyway, sorry for the lengthy post, I just wanted to show the math that I did, discuss the sources I was using to tell me whether or not it IS blocked, and show that from my calculations, it IS blocked (again, NOT the actual stun, just the damage).
Thanks to anyone who can confirm or deny this. Ironically, Void is my 2nd/3rd most played hero right behind Storm (I think it's Storm, Ursa, Void, in that order), so you'd THINK I'd know the answer 100%, but again, after taking 2+ year break, I'm not sure what changes might have been made during that time frame, and so I just wanted to look into this and ask anyone who might know with absolute certainty.
Thanks everyone! Good to be back after such a long break!

2022.01.19 23:38 my-co-lo-geeeee I miss being angry

I remember a time when I was angered by the inequality of having to work a job for the simple privilege of being alive in a world where some individuals have more wealth than small nations.
I remember being angry at corporate misconduct and greed.
I remember being angry at the way we, the most "intelligent" species on the planet had made such a mess of things.
That anger fuelled me, it made me hopeful of economic revolution or at the very least reform. It got me interested in theories like UBI.
But I'm not angry anymore.
I'm just tired.
So damn tired.
And I'd just like to sleep please.
